If you need help or support. We're here to support you

Peterborough Rape Crisis Care Group (PRCCG) is a charity that was established in 1983.

Its purpose is to provide free, confidential and non-judgemental support initially to women and girls but in recent years this has included men and boys who have experienced any form of sexual violence in their life.

We are the only specialist service provider for
survivors of sexual violence in Peterborough, Fenland and Huntingdonshire. You can access short-term and long-term emotional support as well as benefit from practical information given over the telephone, email or face-to-face. We can also guide you through the criminal justice system which can be a daunting experience if you don’t know the process.

You can access our services directly if you’re a survivor of sexual violence but also if you’ve been indirectly affected as a family member or you support a survivor. We are completely independent of other organisations including the police, health and social services. Referrals are welcome from other professionals who feel you would benefit from our services.

PRCCG works in partnership with Cambridge Rape Crisis and is accredited by the national charity Rape Crisis England & Wales which means we adhere to the Rape Crisis National Service Standards. This enables us to offer consistent, high-quality, specialist services to
survivors of sexual violence that are free at the point of contact.

Our values

As a charity, we endeavour to maintain a strong leadership team to help guide and manage the organisation. Working to be responsive and effective, our goal is to ensure we keep anyone who asks for help safe. We have a set of core values that embody the work we do and guide our services.

Empowerment

Our services are focused on the survivors and we advocate an emotional support service that is built around the trauma you experience. Designed to empower you by ensuring you’re treated with dignity and respect within a culture of belief.

Equality

Commitment to human rights while actively working to reduce or remove any barriers to accessing our services. Engaged in raising public awareness about the impacts of sexual violence and challenging any misconceptions across the community.

Collective action

Work with other organisations delivering similar services to highlight the need and demand for specialist services locally, regionally and nationally. Represent the voice of survivors by being members of organisations that can make a difference in the treatment of sexual violence on the national agenda.
